G'DAY mates This is my media story! I believe this story sounds so crazy that it should be mentioned. It is true and I have proofs for this story. One week before we had to leave Australia (impressive country) the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Arts Festival was celebrated at the forecourt of the Opera House . On this day I did a bit of sightseeing in Sydney (beautiful city). I didnt know that this ceremony would be on this day and heaps of people and securities were around. I asked somebody who looked pretty important: Whats going on? He told me about the Arts Festival. I thought it would be very nice to watch this. Because the ceremony would start in more than one hour I went back to the city to have dinner. When I came back I saw this small hut with Media Registration written on it. Because my host-family gave me their professional looking camera, I had a crazy idea. I put this camera over my shoulder and went to this hut. There was a table with many information sheets on it. I just looked at this information and immediately a woman asked me: Are you from the media? I responded: Yes, I am from the media. Then she gave me all these information sheets and a CD-ROM. My plan seemed to work. But suddenly the woman asked for my media ID. I hadnt a media ID so I was in trouble. I pretended to search in my pockets for my ID. Oh no, I lost my wallet with my media ID! After a short discussion she believed that I was from the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung and I should report about Sydneys preparation for the Olympics. Finally I got the media sticker which allowed me to enter all the media areas. Another woman showed me all the media photo spots and I took a seat in the best area and I was able to watch this Opening Ceremony from one of the best places. The Ceremony was an Aboriginal Dance, which was celebrated by the Aborigine Choreograph who opened the Olympic Games. It was fantastic. |
